Job Description
As a Scheduling Specialist, you will be one of the first points of contact for our patients, helping create a positive experience. You'll play an important role in connecting patients with the care they need by scheduling appointments, coordinating provider schedules, answering questions, and ensuring every interaction is handled with professionalism and compassion. Primary Duties • Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule patient appointments efficiently and accurately. • Answer incoming calls, respond to patient portal messages, and assist with appointment questions. • Maintain accurate patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR). • Register new patients and assist with scheduling needs. • Support front office operations and cross-train to assist other clerical positions as needed. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred. • 1 year previous experience working in medical facility. • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office. • Knowledge of medical terminology • Ability to meet and exceed deadlines on a regular basis. • Ability to type 50-60 wpm. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Strong organization and time management skills. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, confidential medical environment. • Professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail. • Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. • Ability to maintain working relationships and interact with patients and employees on a daily basis. • Candidates will be cross-trained to assist other front office departments, providing opportunities to broaden their knowledge, strengthen their skills, and grow within our practice. The regular work hours for this position are 7:30am – 4:30pm. The schedule is subject to change with production demands. Perform Saturday clinic hours per rotation as needed. Benefits This position starts at $17 per hour, with the opportunity for higher pay based on experience and qualifications.
