We want to make our patients aware of a Medicare scam that has recently affected some individuals in our community.

Unfortunately, there are multiple companies committing fraudulent activity by submitting claims for medical supplies (such as catheters) under local physicians’ names — including ours — without patient authorization. In many cases, these charges appear as recurring monthly claims.

Please know that these claims are NOT coming from Family Care Associates.

To protect yourself, we encourage you to:

• Review your Medicare statements & EOBs carefully

• Report any unfamiliar charges to Medicare (800-633-4227)

• Do not share personal or insurance information with unknown callers

• Consider reporting suspicious activity to the Better Business Bureau
